she came running into her room with a heavy heart; a torn heart. she saw him lying down on her bed and she walked slowly towards it while trying to hold back her tears. she slipped next to him and he stirred. at that instant, the moment she saw his face, she burst out. her boyfriend, surprised at the reaction of his girlfriend, pulled her close to him and stroke her hair.
what's wrong, he asked her.
you won't leave me right? she asked her face showing agonizing pain.
i won't honey, i won't, he told her reassuringly.
promise me? she asked again, holding his hand against her chest.
i promise honey, i promise, he said, and he kissed her forehead.
i don't want to lose you, i don't want to lose anyone. i don't to lose anyone anymore. i don't want to lose you, especially you, she told him.
you won't lose me baby, you won't.
promise you'd be there for me, and whatever happens to us, we'd still have each other?
i promise baby. hey there there, stop crying now. i'm here, here. i won't go anywhere. i promise.
she cried and cried again and he was there holding her all the way, reassuring her things will be o.k. making her feel safe, warm, and wanted. she loved him. he loved her. they fell asleep in each other's arms.
a couple of months later, she broke up with him. a couple of months later, she wants him back and he rejects her. now, all she could think about is the promises they've made with each other and how easily those promises can be broken. she's now left with no one to comfort her. no one to hold her. she's alone now. all alone. all she could do is hold on to those memories as to when those promises were made and though it pains her, those memories are also the ones that make her feel alright on some days. then she realizes, he is not the only one who's broken the promises. she is responsible too. her heart breaks and aches and there is no one else now left to comfort her.
p.s: this sucks.
